What's New
A plain-language rundown of what’s changed in recent RENDERWAVE releases. For the full technical changelog, see renderwave.io/changelog.
RENDERWAVE 1.5.3
Section titled “RENDERWAVE 1.5.3”A performance pass tuned for high-refresh displays, so playback runs smoother. This release also adds a new Getting Started walkthrough inside the app and includes the JULY 2026 show.
RENDERWAVE 1.5.2
Section titled “RENDERWAVE 1.5.2”- RENDERWAVEJULY26 bundled show. A curated secondary show now ships with the app and appears in your SHOW menu on its own. It’s added non-destructively, meaning it never overwrites your own shows, presets, or settings. Loading it applies its own Creator-view defaults and pre-fills autopilot with every Performance preset in order.
- XOR Circles renamed to Circles. If you had presets or sessions built on XOR Circles, they migrate to Circles on upgrade instead of breaking.
- Refreshed shader thumbnails throughout the browser.
RENDERWAVE 1.5.1
Section titled “RENDERWAVE 1.5.1”A maintenance release, with no user-facing feature changes called out.
How updates work
Section titled “How updates work”RENDERWAVE uses Sparkle to check for updates in the background. You can also trigger a check yourself: open the RENDERWAVE menu > About RENDERWAVE, and click Check for Updates….
Update checks include a privacy-safe check of your license (a one-way hash, never your raw key) so RENDERWAVE can offer you the right update channel. If a download fails, RENDERWAVE points you toward System Settings > Privacy & Security for network permissions, or you can grab the latest build from renderwave.io/download.
The same About window shows which version and build you’re running.
